Objective

Egon von Vietinghoff Egon von Vietinghoff, 1991/92 The Egon von Vietinghoff Foundation manages a representative collection of presently 69 oil-paintings and 13 graphic works never offered for sale.

The vast life work of Egon von Vietinghoff is to be made accessible to a large public. For this purpose, the foundation is looking for shortand long-term temporary, periodical or permanent venues for the exhibition of its collection in Switzerland and abroad.

It aims at preserving the memory of the painter as well as to circulate and promote the artist's spiritual legacy: the concepts of "Transcendental Painting" and the method of the "School of Pure Vision". In addition, it encourages the transmission of buried knowledge of the traditional European oil-resin painting with its multilayer technique, a unique cultural heritage.

Redcurrants on a twig with leaves Published media include: a brochure, an illustrated catalogue, a lithography, postcard art prints, and a video. The Foundation organizes exhibitions, if possible with a slide show (now available as a digitalized film).

By doing so, it aims to document the artist’s life and work, to disseminate the "School of Pure Vision", and to spark interest in the "Transcendental Painting". This may provide a new view on the works of other painters as well.

The collection of the Foundation shows an excellent insight into the creation of Egon von Vietinghoff and simultaneously shows the continuity of the European painting tradition in the twentieth century.

Spiraea branches The first aim of the Foundation is fulfilled when the collection is periodically, regularly or permanently accessible to the public.

Thus the Foundation is interested to find rooms corresponding to the value of the works which allow this kind of exhibitions (even as a loan or only a part of the Foundations collection).

Finally we would welcome and publish a translation of the manuscript "Das Wesen der bildenden Kunst" (The Nature of Visual Arts) which is only available on the German version of this website.

Medieval scene The proceeds of the Foundation's capital cover only the most necessary costs, i.e. the storing of the works and some annual expenses for accounting, the auditor, and office stationery.

Thus, other expenses are not any more covered by the proceeds.
